Traditionally during a comment period, the Forest Service provides a "reading room" for the public to see what comments are being submitted. This go-around, similar to May 2025, The Flathead National Forest is not allowing the public to see comments as they come in. Therefore, we have decided to create our own reading room. Please Note: The Forest Service has two "deadlines" on their website. The April 1 “deadline” (30 day window) appears to be the Forest Service’s attempt to encourage early submissions so they can get an early start on preparing the project record and decision documentation.

However, know that the FNF will accept public comments until midnight (EDT) April 30th. Even if you have already submitted a comment, you are allowed to submit additional comments until the end of the month. Public comments are more important than ever as they serve as a legitimate record of objection going forward.
